A Full Service Provider
Nalco Mobotec, a full service solutions provider, wants to partner with customers from project inception through completion by providing the necessary technical capabilities to promote the success of our clients' air quality improvement projects. Nalco Mobotec can provide ongoing support as well, in order to optimize system performance. Our capabilities include—but are not limited to—Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modeling, Analytical Laboratory Services, Design & Detail Engineering, and On-site Services.
CFD Modeling
Computer models are necessary to fully understand and accurately predict furnace performance, including the interaction of fluid and gases (before, during, and after combustion), with the complex heating surfaces and equipment used in utility and industrial boilers. The power generation industry increasingly employs CFD Modeling to predict combustion and pollution characteristics. CFD Modeling, a branch of fluid mechanics, uses numerical methods and algorithms to solve and analyze problems that involve fluid flows, combustion chemistry, and heat transfer.

Analytical Laboratory Services
Our analytical laboratories offer a full range of capabilities that provide comprehensive answers over a wide range of areas, including fuel, liquid, and deposit analysis and metallurgical testing. As the demands for more stringent pollutant control expand, Nalco researchers are developing new programs for enhanced air protection. We also endeavor continuously to enable operational changes in our clients’ plants. Example project areas span NOx control, SOx reduction—including FGD systems and effluent—metals removal, CO2 capture, fuel switching/biomass cofiring, and more.
